Deep breathing and muscle relaxing exercises can help.

Type “Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing (DDB)” into your search engine.

You can also search for “Progressive Muscle Relaxation” exercises (PMR).

Start and end the day with a short meditation, including spiritual meditation if you are inclined that way.

Talk to someone trusted family and friends.

Minimise contact with people you know will stress you out. You can’t always do this, but you can for a period of time.

Avoid drinking, smoking and drugs. They are never solutions to your stress problem.

Eating well always helps.

Exercise releases stress in the body.

Take a break from your head chatter – say out loud five things you can see, four things you can hear, three things you can touch, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste.

Before going into an important meeting, do a minute of DDB, and combine it with PMR if you like.

If stress is ongoing for more than two weeks, consider speaking to a health professional, such as your GP or a Psychologist. Ask Dr Lim.
